Now available for sale is this super rare 1996 Subaru Impreza WRX STI 555 Colin McRae Special. It is believed that as little as 500 750 were produced and this example is one of only two in Australia making this car extremely rare and collectable. All being finished in the iconic Monte Carlo Blue Rally Blue, the 555 edition WRX was made to commemorate Colin McRae winning the 1995 World Rally Championship and based off the Version 2 STI. The 555 editions also have a host of other factory modifications on top of the STI model such as a full operational roof vent, larger IHI turbo, alloy bonnet and roof, vented disc brakes, Nardi steering wheel, STI seats and a rear wiper. Fully imported into Australia approximately fifteen years ago and has been well looked after ever since. The odometer showing just over 68,000 kilometres. HSV's 5th Anniversary range was released to coincide with the companys 8,000th vehicle being built at the Notting Hill plant. A total of 138 anniversary vehicles were produced including a mix of ClubSport, Senator, Maloo, Statesman and Sports Wagon models, and were finished in Galaxy Blue with Panorama Silver lower body components. These Special anniversary models had there limited build number displayed on the passenger side dash board with a HSV build plate in the engine bay which verified there rarity and with unique decals that were positioned in the front and rear passengers side windows to distinguish them from other HSV models, the interior had the HSV logo with 5th anniversary embroidered on all door trims of what was an upgraded blue and grey interior design. There were 15, 5th Anniversary Maloos built, of which 5 were manual and with the two tone finish paintwork that consists the colour Panorama Silver of the most desirable HSV built the VL Walkinshaw makes this particular HSV ute verycollectible and popular among all HSV collectors.
