Superbly presented Phase 2 car in classic Cherry Red with 35,300 milesUK-supplied in early June 1991 by Summersdale Peugeot in ChichesterSmart, unmolested interior in Black half-leather and Monaco Tweed clothFull-service history with 21 stamps in the book. Every service invoice from newThe most recent service (June 2019) included a cambelt/water pump changeThe MOT is valid until August 2020,issued with no advisoriesThese landmark cars are becoming increasingly collectable as practical classicsIn many people's eyes, the Peugeot 205 was the definitive Eighties hatchback and the most perfect, practical design for a small car ever. Launched in 1983, it was a brilliant rival to the Renault 5 and the Ford Fiesta with its wheelateach corner' design andweighing only875kg. No wonder it won What Cars magazineCar of the Yearin 1983 and was declared Car of the Decadeby CAR Magazine in 1990. The1.6-litreGTi was blessed with brilliant handling and a revvy and eager 105bhp engine, however, the 1.9-litreGTi thatfollowed, although externally and internally similar to its little sisterwassubtly different in character with 20 more bhp, a wider spread of torque, and was altogether more grown-up.Silverstone Auctions know good 205 GTis when we see them. In 2018 we achieved a new world record price for the model, beating the previous highest figure, which we had also again attained the year before. The car presented here may not have covered a similarly tiny mileage to the two record holders, but its special in its own way and a worthy addition to our 205 back-catalogue.This smart examplewas originally supplied to a Mr K C Tomlinsof Hayling islandby Summersdale Peugeot in Chichester, West Sussexprior to being first registered in early June 1991. It was serviced at Summersdale for the first 10 years of its life until the ownerat the timeswitched to another nearby Peugeot dealer.Comfortingly, our vendorhasall the service invoices going back to the very first service on 21/08/91.The overall condition of this verylow mileage 205 is excellent, having never been restored. The bodyworkappears spot-onwith only a couple of minor blemishesandtheCherryRed paintworkhas been professionally polished and exudes a wonderful shine. Theblack half-leather, Phase 2interior isalso in great shapewith seats and carpets showing minimal wear. The original Clarion stereoand speakers remain in place and, importantly, theoriginalrear parcel shelf has not beenmodified to take larger, after-market speakers. We understand that all theelectrics work just as they left the factoryas doesthe sunroofwithallitssealsintact. The car is excellent mechanically and during the last three years it has been serviced twice by a well-known Peugeot 205 specialist and set up on a rolling road. The most recent service, in June 2019, included a cambelt/water pump change. The only modification to the car is the addition of air conditioning whichaformer owner sourced from another205 and had professionally installed by a well-known 205 specialist.Theownersfile contains theoriginal logbook, service invoices, original stamped service book and two keys.Overall, this is an excellent opportunity to acquire a genuine low-mileage, unmolested 205 1.9 GTi that has patently been cherished and drives really well. The desirability of these cars is now well established and they always attract willing buyers who generally tend to be most keen on low mileage, unmodified cars with a clearly documented service history and in cared for condition which, fortunately, is exactly what we have here.

250 bhp '952' engine from the 'S' with a 5-speed transaxle manual gearboxFinished in Schwarz Metallicwith a Linen leather interior in truly excellent conditionFull Porsche and specialist service history, with numerousinvoices verifying the recorded 82,300 miles, MOT'd until 18/09/2020Little use over the last tenyears.Maintained by OPH Porsche to ensure itsin excellent mechanical orderElectric removable sunroof, with provision for storage in the boot.Original tool kit and air compressorFollowing the international success of the 924, a more powerful Porsche-designed all-alloy, 2.5-litre inline-four, producing 163 bhp, was introduced in 1982 for the 944. Porsche engineers were able to produce a very smooth running four-cylinder engine by utilising two counter-rotating balance shafts running at twice engine speed. These carry eccentric weights which produce inertial forces that balance out the unbalanced secondary forces, making a four-cylinder engine feel as smooth as a six. Cosmetically, the bodyworkwas revised with wider wheel arches (similar to that of the 924 Carrera GT), a fresh interior and upgrades to the braking and suspension systems. With greater visual presence and the performance to match, better handling, stopping power and more creature comforts, the 944 was a major step forward. A turbo version of the 944 was always on the cards, and it boosted the 2.5-litre engine by nearly 60bhp, whilst both the clutch and gearbox were uprated to suit. For 1988, a Turbo SE was offered with 250bhp thanks to a larger turbocharger, the transmission was again upgraded, and a limited-slip diff was fitted along with uprated brakes and Koni dampers. From 1989-1991 the 'SE' specification was adopted for the standard 944 Turbo making it somewhat of a sleeping giant.Offered here is a lovely, last of the line (952 engine code) UK-supplied, Porsche 944 Turbo finished in Schwarz Metallic with a contrasting Linen leatherinterior in excellent condition. The service recordsin the car'scomprehensive history filedetails maintenanceby both Porsche main dealer and specialists, most recentlyby OPH Porsche, upholding this lovely 944 Turbos mechanical health. The tyres are all in very good condition and importantly the correct sizes and Porsche approved and the car's original tool kit and air compressor are where they are supposed to be. In addition to the Service Record, which corroborates the indicated mileage of 82,300, the owner's file contains the original manuals, older MOTs and a number of invoices.Presented with a recent MOT Certificate (18/09/2020), this lovely example, competitively guided opens the door to the very exclusive club of Turbo Porsche ownership..

Its popularity has never diminished and a plethora of variants and styles have always been hungrily anticipated and universally enjoyed by the car's cult following all of whom treasure the next instalment from Volkswagen, the hot-hatch giant.Whilst many motorists today appreciate the exhilaration of roof-downwind-in-your-hair' motoring, few are willing to forego the comfort of a saloon car in order to enjoy it, however, the Golf GTi Convertible, introduced in 1980, made any such sacrifice unnecessary being designed and built by one of the world's most experienced builders of open-touring cars - Karmann of Osnabrck. With the hood up these little cars were remarkably draught free, lower the hood and you were ready to take advantage of every moment of sunshine which a British summer could muster. The Golf GTi Rivagewas a run-out model of the legendary Mk1 GTi Convertible, enhancing the appeal of the car with metallic blueor green paint, heatedRecaro cloth seats, Le Castellet forged alloy wheels, powered mohair hood and a five-speed gearbox. The proceeds of its fundraising effort is directed towards a wide range of support activities and equipment purchase and also includes the provision of qualified care visitors, financial support for carers and family, benefits advice, living adaptations and most importantly towards the area of research in an effort to find the cause of MND and ultimately a cure.
