The original Brute in a Suit. The V600 enhanced Vantage, made its first appearance at the 1996 Birmingham Motor Show and was the result of an advanced engineering programme, carried out by Aston Martin. Made available at considerable expense, owners of the 550 bhp Vantage were able to upgrade their cars to the comprehensive V600 specifications, giving themselves the ultimate performance from the already accomplished Vantage. With over 600 bhp available from 5.3 litre Supercharged V8 engine, a top speed of 200 mph was claimed, with 0-60 coming up in 3.9 seconds. At considerable cost, the upgrades combined to transform the Vantage to a new high level of outright performance, whilst loosing nothing, of the consummate ease, with which the Vantage covers ground. The British Racing Green car we are delighted to offer, a factory V600 specification car with all available options, has been known to us for many years and supplied by us to the last owner in 2007. First shown at the 1959 London Motor Show, the DB4GT was described as Britains fastest passenger car. A thinly disguised competition car, which could be raced on Sunday and driven to the office on Monday. The improved power to weight ratio of the DB4 GT, proved competitive in period when pitched against contemporary Ferrari and Jaguar competition models, campaigned in International Sportscar racing. Driven by luminaries Stirling Moss, Jim Clark, Innes Ireland and many other legendary drivers, the DB4GT set a new bench mark for Aston Martins, competing from the front of the grid. Homologated in period for International Sports Car Racing, a number of DB4GTs are now successfully campaigned in prestigious historic races, including the Classic Le Mans and Goodwood Revival meetings. Chassis 0157/R, the car we are proud to offer was built and delivered to its first owner in 1961, unusually fitted with occasional rear seats and finished in Dubonnet Rosso. Reportedly owned for a short period in 1962 by legendary comedy actor Peter Sellers, 0157/R subsequently became the star car featuring in the 1963 British film 'The Wrong Arm of the Law, featuring Peter Sellers himself. Whilst filming, the car was returned to Aston Martin with a damaged engine and rebuilt with a new block to 4.0 litre capacity, which remains installed. After immortalisation on celluloid, 0157/R was driven in a limited number of UK club events in the hands of its next owner, before relocating with the next owner to New Zealand in 1985. Returning to the UK in the late 1990s, 0157/R was entrusted to well-known UK marque specialists for a complete body off restoration by new enthusiast owner Kevin Regan, being completed in 2003. Featured in Octane magazine, November 2003 issue, when pitched against a Ferrari 250 SWB, this superb car has since been part of an extensive UK based Aston Martin collection. Professionally housed and occasionally driven on weekends, whilst being regularly attended and serviced. With just 75 DB4GT constructed and well chronicled in various AMOC journals including The Aston Martin DB4GT', published by Palawan Press, the DB4GT's place in the pantheon of historic sports racing cars is clearly defined and we are delighted, to bring to market this exceptional example. Unique: Being the only one of its kind; unlike anything else. Revealed in 2007 at Aston Martins Design Studios opening party, the unique Vantage RS concept was shown by CEO Dr Ulrich Bez and resulted in a rush of customer interest and orders placed. Here was Aston Martins smallest car with their biggest and most powerful engine installed. Fitted with a DBRS9 detuned engine producing 585 bhp, dry sump lubrication, use of carbon fibre materials and a power to weight ratio of 375bhp per ton, details were scant on reveal. The Vantage RS was displayed by Aston Martin at the Geneva Motor show in 2008, the Goodwood Festival of Speed that year and featured on the cover of Top Gear and Evo magazines. Tested at Circuit Paul Ricard in 2008, the Vantage RS was timed through the speed trap at 175 mph, eclipsing the speed of Aston Martin Racings GT2, GT3 and GT4 racing machinery, tested simultaneously. The 580 bhp and 690 Nm of torque available in the 1500 kg car, proved almost too fast to consider allowing the public to buy one! The Vantage RS utilised the aluminium constructed VH chassis architecture pioneered by Dr Bez, in this instance fitted with an Aston Martin Racing C-Spec DBRS9 engine, utilising dry sump lubrication and highly specified components including tuned length exhaust manifolds, forged pistons and strengthened steel con-rods, with revised lift and duration camshafts and modified cylinder heads. This extraordinary power is transmitted through a manually operated 6-speed transaxle with limited slip differential. Bodied in aluminium and carbon fibre panels some being unique to the Vantage RS, the car was shown with carbon interior fixtures and fittings, Alcantara trim and exclusive lightweight materials still fitted. The total weight of under 1500 kg, being some 200 kg under the published weight of the production V12 Vantage, lighter still than the later Vantage GT12. Later to become the V12 Vantage a distinctly diluted form of the RS Concept, the model went on to become one of Aston Martins most popular and revered cars, in production until 2018. Road registered in the UK in 2014, this is one of the very few Aston Martin concept cars, to enter into private ownership and therefore represents a unique opportunity for international collectors to acquire a remarkable and original concept, of what was to become one of Aston Martins greatest cars of the modern era. Road registered, in pristine condition and maintained by Aston Martins special vehicle operations, we are delighted to bring to market this unique original concept car. Complete with a spares package, history file with extensive documentation and photography, this very special and highly desirable car is available for now, at our Hertfordshire home.
