  • Auction: 20th/21st Sept 2019 - RM Sotheby's - The Saragga Collection

To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION WITHOUT RESERVE at RM Sothebys' The Sáragga Collection event, 20 - 21 September 2019. Smooth, reliable Packard Custom EightHandsome close-coupled Club Sedan bodyHigh-quality restoration The Sixth Series Packards were introduced on 1 August 1928. All Packards were now Eights, the six-cylinder models having been discontinued. This Series 640 Custom Eight Club Sedan was delivered on 25 June 1929 by the Packard Motor Car Company of Boston. A high-quality restoration, it is painted black over green, with black wings, black mouldings, and a triple ivory pinstripe. The interior is finished in grey pinstripe cloth and is excellent in every way. The odometer shows fewer than 75,000 miles, and the engine bay is clean and correctly detailed. The five-passenger close-coupled body sits nicely between the axles on the 140.5-inch wheelbase, offering great comfort and leaving room for an exterior trunk and spare tyre at the rear. A pair of Trippe driving lights illuminate the way in front.Handsome is as handsome does, and Packards motto, Ask the Man Who Owns One, would yield a resounding endorsement for this car.To view this car and others currently consigned to this auction, please visit the RM website at rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/pg19.

  • Auction: 10th/11th Oct 2019 - RM Sotheby's - Hershey Auction

To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION WITHOUT RESERVE at RM Sothebys' Hershey event, 10 - 11 October 2019. An all-original, unrestored survivor with 17,000 milesIncludes the original service papers and owners manualAACA HPOF and Metropolitan Club of North American Test of Time certificationKnown ownership history from new Nash introduced the Metropolitan hardtop coupe and convertible for 1954. Looking not unlike a three-quarter version of the big Nash, the little car featured enclosed front wheels along with a continental spare tire out back. Bodies were built in England by Fisher and Ludlow, while its four-cylinder engine came from Austin, which did the final assembly. Sold by both Nash and Hudson dealers, production continued through 1962.Beginning in 1956, Metropolitans were upgraded to a 52 hp, 1,500 cc engine (a 10 hp increase). Nineteen fifty-nine marked the addition of an outside trunk lid greatly improving access to the rear storage area. Front vent windows to improve ventilation, larger tires, andredesigned seats with two inches of more seat travel were also included. All of this helped to make 1959 the most successful year for the Metropolitan, with sales of 14,959 in the United States. Finished in Autumn Yellow, this cute Metropolitan is said to be completely original and unrestored. It has received Test of Time honors from the Metropolitan Club of North America and AACA HPOF certification attesting to its condition. It was originally purchased in Knoxville, Tennessee, and in 1961 or 1962 it was bought by a dealer, White-Allen Chevrolet in Dayton, Ohio. It remained in their possession until it was purchased by an individual in Beavercreek, Ohio, in 1985, selling to the consigners friend a year later. The consigner purchased it from him around 19891990.The odometer reading of 17,000-some miles is believed to be accurate. Further attesting to its originality are small dents on the fender above the rear wheels common to Mets, from when the cars were offloaded from shipping. Other signsinclude paint on the fuel pump, as Met engines were painted following assembly. The original service papers and owners manual are included. It is fitted with accessory wheel-trim rings and a dealer-installed outside mirror typically used on AMC/Ramblers of the period. To view this car and others currently consigned to this auction, please visit the RM website at rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/hf19.

  • Auction: 21st Sept 2019 - Historics Auctioneers - Brooklands Motor Museum Sept 2019 Sale

The Land Rover Series IIa is considered by many to be the hardiest Series model constructed. It is also quite possibly the model that features most strongly in the general public's perception of the Land Rover, from its many appearances in popular films and television documentaries set in Africa throughout the 1960s, such as Born Free. In February 1968, just a few months after its manufacturer had been subsumed, under government pressure, into the Leyland Motor Corporation, the Land Rover celebrated its twentieth birthday, with total production to date just short of 600,000 of which more than 70% had been exported. It was whilst the Series IIa was in production that sales of utility Land Rovers reached their peak, in 1969-70, sales of over 60,000 Land Rovers a year were recorded. Compare that with sales of the Defender in recent years which have been around the 25,000 level since the 1990s. As well as record sales, the Land Rover dominated many world markets, in Australia, for example, the LandRover held 90% of the 4×4 market in the 1960s. This 1963 Land Rover Series IIa Pick-up was purchased early this year by a specialist film vehicle rental company to feature in the new film 'Peter Rabbit 2', it replaced the Land Rover that was in the first film. To that end a series of modifications were carried out to make it look like the 1970s Land Rover that featured in the first Peter Rabbit film. The new Peter Rabbit film is being released on 27th March 2020. This example is finished in green with brown seats and is supplied with a V5 registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in January 2020 and a few old MoT certificates. This is a rare opportunity to purchase a Land Rover Series IIa Pick-up, offered without reserve, which now has an interesting film provenance.

1977 Fiat 131 'Abarth'; Freshly imported from a dry climate, South Africa, with the relevant import paperwork supplied.; The car can only be described as 'exceptionally good' .... 'remarkable' is probably a better choice of words seeing as its a Fiat..!!; Lets face it, these rusted away while you went shopping. Pull up outside Tesco's with a presentable looking 131 only to return an hour and half later to a rusty car parked where you left yours.... The original spot wields can be viewed at the bottom of the rear quarters etc.; Black underneath, but you can easily see the straight edges of the steel.; If this car carried a 'Ford' badge it would be guided in excess of 25,000.; On-site now for viewing.; We are open 7 days a week here at Thornton Le Dale for pre-sale viewing, although a quick phone call prior totravelling is advised.; Remember, we personally collect FREE of charge around 90% of all our auction vehicles.; So, if you have a vehicle which you would like us to re-home.... just make the call. 01751 474455; Thank you.

One of only 300 Turbo S Cabriolets builtU.S. delivery example, delivered new to FloridaExceptionally well optioned The fastest and most expensive cabriolet offered for the Porsches 996 generation of 911, the Turbo S Cabriolet was a vehicle with no compromises, offering the very best in terms of performance, luxury, and exclusivity. Whilst about 980 Turbo Ss were produced at the end of the 996s life cycle, only 300 were cabriolets. This U.S. specification example was delivered new to Florida and boasts a variety of seldom-seen options, including the Tiptronic transmission, satellite navigation, and carbon-fibre trim on the steering wheel, dashboard, centre console, and sport seats.
