1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SECSmoke Silver Metallic (702U) with Beige Leather (265)63,000 milesThe SEC was the flagship of the Mercedes-Benz range, topped by the 5.6 litre V8 powered 560 SEC. To put it simply, in 1989 this would have been the ultimate automotive status symbol. This 560 SEC boasted a list price when new (with options) of 64,398. If we adjust that figure for inflation and translate it into '2019 Money' we come out with a figure of 169,874. Not only was this car eye-wateringly expensive when new, it was also more expensive than a Ferrari Testarossa of the same year.Being the flagship of the range meant there weren't too many boxes to tick when ordering a 560 SEC from the showroom. This car has Acceleration Skid Control which would have added more than 5,000 to the list price in today's money.Coming from an astute collector, this car has covered just 63,000 careful miles and is presented in showroom condition throughout. An opportunity for a new owner to acquire possibly the best 560 SECcurrently available. 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SECSmoke Silver Metallic (702U) with Beige Leather (265)63,000 milesThe SEC was the flagship of the Mercedes-Benz range, topped by the 5.6 litre V8 powered 560 SEC. 1987 Mercedes-Benz 300SL (R107)Midnight Blue (902) with Blue Leather (252) and Blue Fabric Soft Top (5010)42,941 milesA highly desirable Midnight Blue R107 SL complete with 3.0 litre straight six engine and some rare options, including orthopaedic front seats and air conditioning. This car boasts very low mileage of just 42,941.With air conditioning and anti-theft device, this car would have left the factory at almost 45,000, or around 117,000 in today's money. An SL in a dark blue or black colour with luxurious leather interior will always be in demand, but the additional options enjoyed by this car make it truly a special find.Leather, Orthopaedic Front Seats and Air Conditioning were expensive optional extras in 1987. In those days, the options list was shorter than on a modern car - finding an SL with multiple options is actually quite a rare thing, particularly with air conditioning on a UK car. Air conditioning is a must for international touring, therefore cars with this option are always indemand. An SL in a dark blue or black colour with luxurious leather interior will always be in demand, but the additional options enjoyed by this car make it truly a special find.Leather, Orthopaedic Front Seats and Air Conditioning were expensive optional extras in 1987. 1977 Mercedes-Benz R107 350SLBrilliant Red (525U) with Black Leather and Black Fabric Soft Top (9001)This beautifully presented early car shows just 43,000 miles. With black leather and soft top, it's a fantastic chance to acquire an iconic looking early V8 SL.The colour is an early R107 shade of Brilliant Red, available from 1975 to 1979 only.It is one of 13 different shades of red offered from 1971 to 1989. The matching wheel trims complete the picture, synonymous with early vehicles and desired by enthusiasts and collectors alike. Not only is the colour very rare, it's also incredibly difficult to photograph accurately! Being a metallic colour it has an almost orange hue - to sit this car next to a later Signal Red car one would see a distinct difference in the shade, however it also has the ability to deceive depending on the light. Sometimes it looks more red, other times it looks more orange. It's a beautiful colour, complimented by the black interior and one that really needs to be seen upclose and in person. 1977 Mercedes-Benz R107 350SLBrilliant Red (525U) with Black Leather and Black Fabric Soft Top (9001)This beautifully presented early car shows just 43,000 miles. 1968 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagoda (W113)Midnight Blue (904) with Grey Leather and Blue Fabric Soft TopThe 280SL was the final incarnation of the Pagoda series of SL, replacing the 250SL in 1967 and continuing until the introduction of the R107 in 1971. The introduction of the larger 2.8 litre M130 engine was hailed by many as the ultimate Pagoda thanks to the car now having the power to suit the sublime Paul Bracq styled silhouette;, with 168hp available from the Single Overhead Cam inline six. This beautiful 280SL Pagoda was ordered new in Pennsylvania, United States back in 1968.In 2014, when the car was a mere 46 years young, it was shipped to Germany where it was subject to what can only be described as a nut and bolt restoration.Every part of this car has been taken care of to an extremely high standard, with the end goal being concours condition and ultimate Pagoda perfection. The body shell was totally rebuilt, and the underside powder coated. Zinc plated bolts were used, with the entireunderneath of the car then detailed to show standard. This build is evidenced by photos and receipts which can be browsed on request. Also accompanying the car is the original green service book, manuals and brown plastic sleeve wallet. From the factory this car would have been painted 'Blue 287', however during the 2014 restoration the decision was made to go with 'Midnight Blue 904'. 287 is a lighter shade of blue, and we believe the move to the darker 904 gives the car a much more luxurious look and feel. The leather and carpets have been finished to the exact specification of the factory originals, something that is critically important to Pagoda connoisseurs world-wide.Whilst the body shell was rebuilt, the car was given a 'euro look', which involved removing the side repeaters alongside the headlights and replacing the American specification bumpers with more subtle European units. As the American impact regulations increased, elegant cars were often aesthetically compromised by the forcedaddition of these 'impact' bumpers - changing a Pagoda to the European style is a very popular modification for USA cars.Along with the move to Euro specification exterior, another key upgrade this car now enjoys is an improved stereo. Discreet additional speakers were added, all the while being careful to consider the period look of the car whilst aiming to make touring even more enjoyable.Recently this car has spent many hours in our workshops, undergoing a complete overhaul of the injection system with new injectors and a refurbished injection pump. We can now state that this Pagoda drives exactly as a 280SL should have done on the day it left the factory. This can only be described as the perfect 280SL, capable of cold starts, motorway cruising and everything in between.A car to be enjoyed, admired and appreciated for many years to come. 1968 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagoda (W113)Midnight Blue (904) with Grey Leather and Blue Fabric Soft TopThe 280SL was the final incarnation of the Pagoda series ofSL, replacing the 250SL in 1967 and continuing until the introduction of the R107 in 1971.
