Rob Roy Revival Hillclimb to roar into the Yarra Valley in March

Racing the clock on a short course to showcase the power and capability of classic cars is at the heart of the Rob Roy Hillclimb which will come to Victoria’s Yarra Valley on March 28 and 29, 2026.

Back for the fourth time, the annual festival of historic motorsport, live entertainment and period atmosphere starts with practise sessions and hillclimb runs on Saturday, March 28, and continues with a full festival on March 29.

Sunday’s festivities include live music, fashion shows and the historic picnic races’ atmosphere to complement the competitive hillclimb racing.

Organised by the MG Car Club Victoria, the Rob Roy Revival will see over 80 invited historic racing cars competing on the hillclimb track. Cars will run in classes for sports cars, racing cars and touring cars.

“We will be celebrating Italian Automotive Excellence at this year’s Revival. The great marques including Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Ferrari, Lancia and Fiat will be represented.” MG Car Club Vice President Tony Lupton says.

“A bonus this year is the inclusion of the Gaze’s Gully Classic Concours d’Elegance, showcasing some of the finest cars and motorcycles in Australia. This gives visitors two outstanding events rolled into one.

“The Rob Roy Revival recreates the atmosphere of 1940s to 70s motorsport, with spectators encouraged to dress in period style.

“Hay bales, white picket fencing and officials in period dress will add to the atmosphere. Bring a picnic lunch or enjoy the gourmet food available.”

Australian Champion Driver John Bowe AM is the Event Patron.

Bowe is also a Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia Champion and the MG Car Club has joined with the PCFA to raise funds for prostate cancer awareness, research and support.

Located only 45 minutes from Melbourne in Smiths Gully, in the beautiful Yarra Valley, the Rob Roy Revival is a great outing for motorsport lovers, classic car admirers and anyone who enjoys a picnic atmosphere.

Everyone is encouraged to wear their best vintage 50s and 60s gear and join in the revival spirit.
