Rob Chard's HDT VC Commodore #309
It’s a car I always wanted and one I started with when I had my first VC Commodore as a 17-year-old. My dad worked for Holden for years and I bought an ex-GMH SL – I couldn’t afford a Brock back then.
I grew up with Holdens. Dad would get a company car every few months, so we’d sit down with the build sheet and order cars, through the seventies and eighties. They’re all classics now, but back then it was churn and burn – Monaros, SL/R5000s.
I learned to drive in Dad’s VC SL/E five-litre shadowtone.
I’ve had many Commodores over the years and this one for about two years. I have this as the start of the HDT journey, a GTS-R as the end of it and another halfway t hrough – a VT GTS Series 1.
