Renault 1955-2008 – 2021 Market Review

Renault 1955-2008 market review 2021

Older Renaults have become very scarce. In 2021 we saw none of the Beetle-like 750 and just one Dauphine sedan at an ambitious price. Models from the 1960s-70s (R8, R10, R12, R16) aren’t common either but the one that is missed most by enthusiastic drivers is the front-wheel drive 16. Despite scarcity, these and the later 12 will likely cost less than $6000.

Future classic: Renault Clio II Sport 172/182

Good to see a few 1980s Fuego coupes have survived and are (hopefully) selling at around $7000. More exclusive but not yet stupidly expensive is the Alpine GTA with a turbocharged Renault V6 in the back. These are recent imports from the UK so watch for rust.

Prefer a modern ride that goes hard and looks like fun? Consider a Megane Sport at $10,000 or the more expensive RS.

Fuego $7490 [4]
