We caught up with Dave Burnett at this year's David Hack Classic event. Here's what he had to say about his rare 2002 Beamer...

"I believe there now five 2002 Tourings in Australia but this is the only registered one in Queensland that I know of. They are becoming a very rare car and being mostly English cars imported to Australia, many are full of rust. I was lucky with this car, it only spent one year in the UK when a doctor brought it out to Canberra where it stayed for many years. I bought it off a girl in Melbourne.  

That was 13 years ago, and my wife Sue and I flew down and drove it back. Then it took one year and one week to do a complete nut-and-bolt restoration. I put an engine out of one of my racing ’02s in it and it now has about 180hp. I used to sprint race this one but it became too rare and valuable so now we only use it on Sundays."
