Saved from an ignominious end in Flynn's wrecking yard, Project Coomadore is running, registered and ready for the next owner!
The famous ‘Coomadore’ as followed here and in Unique Cars magazine:
1981 VC Holden Commodore L optioned with 3.3-litre six, Trimatic transmission and cloth trim.
Comprehensive resurrection in 2022 after being bought from Flynn’s Wrecking Yard in Cooma NSW.
Engine/driveline recommissioned with fresh coolant, fluids and filters.. Replaced/cleaned fuel tank. New fuel lines, coolant, emissions and heater hoses. New plugs and gaskets.
Rebuilt suspension with new dampers, strut tops and most rubbers. Rebuilt brakes including new discs, flex hoses, cylinders, wheel bearings and frictions.
New carpet. Five new seatbelts. Dash mat and floor mats. New band-tinted windscreen. Door rubbers etc all in remarkable condition.
Fresh tyres on SL/E alloys.
175,000km. Travelled more than 7000km in the past year so 100 per cent reliable – nothing to spend. Jump in and drive to anywhere in the country.
Car is on NSW club plates (not transferable) so will be sold unregistered. Pink or blue slip (your choice) will be provided for NSW buyer or interstate buyers for unreg permit so you can fly/drive. I am happy to discuss ‘road trip’ delivery, too.
This is a remarkable car and a terrific cruiser.
