Sidchrome Cobra Project Part 5 - Video

The Sidchrome Cobra build gets ready to fire up

Last time we checked in on the Sidchrome Cobra build, the guys were slotting in the Coyote V8 and sorting out the hand-built, twin exhaust systems.

As the project car nears completion, the Python Vehicles Australia boys get the Cobra ready to fire up...before stripping it down again. We'll let Street Machine take up the story:

THE Sidchrome Cobra is finally sitting on its sexy, Halibrand-style rims, and without its body is starting to look like a go-kart on steroids. Which is what every Cobra on earth essentially is!

In this episode, we check out the wiring required to bring the 5.0-litre Coyote V8 to life, tag along as the Cobra undergoes its torsional beaming test for engineering, and then watch as master mechanic Joe Imperatori strips the near-complete car down to its jocks again, so the chassis can be powdercoated and all the other bespoke parts created for the car can be plated, chromed or coated as required.

And the big news is that the Cobra will be appearing at Street Machine Summernats 30, so make sure you get down to the Sidchrome stand (located in Pavilion P, on Tuff Street) to check it out.
