Unique Cars' 1969 Camaro winner

Congratulations to James Croft of Clifton Springs, Victoria who is the proud winner of our giveaway 1969 Chevrolet Camaro worth $70,000. James resubscribed to Unique Cars after a few years and received 100 entries into the draw.

A paving contractor and car enthusiast, James proved to be a worthy winner of the Camaro. His house number is mounted on a timber cut-out in the shape of the famous blue Chevrolet badge - something his neighbours enjoy ribbing him about - and he has previously owned a C10 truck and a 1956 sedan.  Whilst delivering the car, Uncle Phil commented, "after many years of giving away cars, James was one of the most appreciative, genuine and emotional winners we've had. It makes this giveaway even more special that James is a committed Chevy man."

The Geelong Advertiser and local newspaper Echo were there to capture the handover and James' first reactions to the prize, as he said to the reporters, "I took a call from Phil Walker from Unique Cars telling me I'd won the car. I immediately responded along the lines of 'You're **** joking' to which Phil replied, "No, I'm not joking! We don't joke about these things'"

Signing the papers to receive the iconic muscle car, James said, "It was the best time he'd put pen to paper since signing his marriage certificate with his wife, Gail, some years ago. She's beautiful. I'm just the happiest dude in Australia."

Unique Cars magazine ran the competition, sponsored by Shannons over a period of six months and received over 30,000 entrants - which included over 12,000 online entries, over 13,000 magazine coupon entries and generated 891 new subscriptions.
