2020 Market Review - Plymouth Barracuda/’Cuda 1964-74
Plymouth’s Barracuda began life as a mild-mannered sporty coupe and ended its days a decade later pretty much where it came from. In between though, Plymouth hung ‘Cuda decals off the back of some fearsome and significant performance cars.

Very few 1970-74 ‘Cudas came to Australia when new so the majority in the market are left-hand drive. Local ‘Cudas usually have 5.2 or 6.3-litre engines and no special attributes, yet asking prices still climb towards $100,000.
More interesting and collectible are cars with 5.5-litre ‘340’ engines or the brutish 440 ‘Six Pack’, some of which can make $150,000. In the middle and almost forgotten are 1967-69, Valiant-based Barracudas that are interesting cars and cost a lot less than ‘70s versions.
