The sun is out and Uncle Phil has been hunting for hot stock to fill your shed and time on weekends as you enjoy the drive
2002 Ford TE50 III
$65,000
The most expensive Falcon ever developed was the AU. Ford spent $700 million and it flopped. It was quickly replaced by the BA. The AU mechanical package was fine but the looks were a letdown. Tickford tackled the issue with their smart-looking TE models that are now hitting the radar of collectors.
This one has travelled a mere 119,000km and has a five-speed manual gearbox sitting behind its stroked five-litre V8. Also on board are big Brembo brakes, and adjustable Koni shocks and this one is fitted with the rare factory option small bobtail rear wing. Inside it’s chock-full of luxuries. A daily driver, weekend cruiser and a head turner at car and coffee events. What more could you want?
1976 Toyota Celica RA23
$50,000
After the Datsun 240Z, the Toyota Celica was the biggest thing to hit the town and the first-generation models have skyrocketed in popularity. Finding a clean rust-free car is no easy task, so this one, claiming to have no corrosion, is worth checking out.
The two-litre four won’t win any races but gets along okay and this one has a manual gearbox. The period correct mags are a nice touch. A simple and fun car to drive that will continue to gain popularity.
1967 Ford Fairlane 500 ZA
$58,000
Tell me, when did you last see a ZA Fairlane except at a car show? I don’t think I’ve seen one in a while. They were a common sight back in the day. This one, owned by the vendor for the past 16 years, received a bare metal respray in 2016 and is apparently rust-free.
It comes with the original owner manual and comprehensive documentation of the work undertaken. It has a 289 V8 with Cruisomatic transmission. The big sin for me is it runs dual fuel but that can be ditched if you chose to do so.
1974 Torana SL/R 5000
$135,000
When you think of Toranas, like me you probably think of the racing versions that are now unaffordable to most. The SL/R 5000 is a bona fide muscle car and earned its stripes as the first Torana to officially have a V8 stuffed under the bonnet. It has become iconic.
This one is finished in Saffron with houndstooth trim and the owner has uprated it to L34 specs with matching numbers L31 5-litre Holden V8 and M21 4-speed gearbox. It looks the part with its guard flares. A chance to grab some special iron lion history.
