Oldsmobile Cutlass/4-4-2/Toronado 1966-73 – market review 2017-18

There are one or two potential bargains in the Oldsmobile range.

During the 1960s Oldsmobiles were popular imports and often seen in major Australian cities.

Less ostentatious than a Cadillac, more exclusive than locally-sold Chevs or Pontiacs, they still cost a lot to RHD convert.

Those originals have now for the most part vanished, but cars arriving to fill the gap include interesting models like the sporty W-30 series.

Prices for serious Olds muscle cars can top $70,000 but good examples of other models including Cutlass convertibles exist at around $35,000.

The pioneering Toronado never ignited collector interest here or even in the USA so top money for a pre-1970 car is US$25-30,000.

Cutlass 88/Supreme 1966-73 $19,140 [6]

4-4-2 1966-73 $40,345 [10]

Toronado 1966-70 $23,315 [3]
