Final sale for Sexton & Green – started in 1919
Former Holden dealer Sexton & Green, which first opened in Tenterfield in northern NSW in 1919, is seeing its last sale.
The dealership’s stock and equipment is being auctioned by Grays.
On offer are 15 vehicles, a stack of memorabilia and workshop equipment. Much of the latter is reasonably current high-end gear.
The dealership announced its closure last year and was given a farewell by the New England Vintage and Veteren Car Club – an event covered by the Tenterfield Star newspaper (pic: Daryl Wood).
As for the cars on offer, the highlight is arguably the 2017 VF II Commodore Motorsport Edition. This was a high-end development of the SS-V series with a prodiction of 1200 units. This example has just 6km on the odo and bidding had exceeded $80,000 with two days to go.

Other highlights include a nicely-presented 1964 EH Special sedan, with bidding nearing $17,000.
And a restored 1953 48-215/FX with bidding a little over $27,000. There is a second unrestored FX on offer as well.

As for memorabilia, one lot in particular has captured attention – what’s listed as a circa 1950 GMH dealer sign. Bidding had so far exceeded $6000.
