2022 Market Review - Nissan Stagea/Elgrand/Cube/Cima 1996-2010
Lots of choice for ‘family’ buyers within this selection and hardly any of the contenders have suffered serious price increases. The one exception would be very scarce RS260 versions of the Stagea wagon, however single turbo Stageas remain at less than $20,000.
A new entry this survey is the Cima V8 sedan – aka Infiniti – with a 4.5-litre V8 and lots of frills for less than $10K. If you need to pack in people, Nissan offers the compact Cube – prices vary wildly so compare before choosing – or the immense Elgrand. Imports come with 3.5-litre, 206kW V6s and use lots of fuel but they do seat seven in abundant luxury.
Or you can replace the rearmost seats with wheelchair accommodation. Older 1990s Elgrands have drifted down to between $6000 and $9000 but a 2009-10 build Highway Star at $20,000 still offers good value.
