We caught up with Carl and his own ‘Godzilla’ at Nissan’s recent launch of the 2020 GT-R
I’ve always loved Nissans, I remember watching the Bathurst series in the early 90s as I was just leaving school and thinking ‘wow, I’d love to have one of those cars one day’!

I bought it almost 10 years ago, I finally found one at a good price. They were a lot more affordable back then and I haven’t really had to spend too much on it.
It’s all original except for the turbo timer and the radio, but you’re not gonna find an original radio…
Engine-wise, I did put Garrett -9 turbos in as I did blow up the exhaust turbine in the front turbo – but overall it’s very original.
It even still has the HICAS (four-wheel steering), which most people toss.
I keep it tucked away in the garage. This is just my weekend car, I don’t drive it to work; just my Sunday morning car really.
Valuation: $25,000 for a rolling shell, think $40-$45,000 for decent entry into the market
