Nissan R35 GT-R – today’s auction tempter

Nismo hero

Call them Godzilla, Nismo heroes, whatever, the GT-R series from Nissan has over the decades provided massive bang for the buck. Sure, they’ve generally cost solid money, but in the greater universe of performance cars, they have nevertheless represented value.

In a feature comparing the R32 series with the R35, Alex Affat noted: “After nearly 30 years of progress; the price has nearly tripled and power output has more than doubled to 441kW, thanks to its equally ground-breaking 3.8lt twin-turbo VR38 V6 engine.

“It blitzed the infamous Nordschliefe in just 7 minutes and 8 seconds, eclipsing the R32 GTRs time of 8 minutes and 22 seconds.

“Decades later, the GT-R name is equally as powerful, innovative – and its ability to shame supercars on a whim is just as it was in 1989.”

Collecting Cars is auctioning the example you see here from the ACT, and the bidding finishes tonight. The 2017 model seems to present very well and is showing under 7000km on the odo.
