2022 Market Review - Nissan 300ZX/Figaro
If you cannot grasp the logic – or lack of – in classic market variations, you aren’t alone.
Within this grouping we find lavishly equipped and rare Nissan 300ZX convertibles selling at $30,000, right alongside the comically tiny 1.0-litre turbo Figaro for which some vendors ask $40,000+. Budget $15-20,000 and you can also own a distinctive 1980s-era 300ZX, with or without turbo, or a Z32 version with 166kW from its non-turbo engine.
These were sold new in Australia from 1989-95, so early ones are now eligible everywhere for Historic registration. Same goes for early versions of the Twin-Turbo Z32, which with two seats will typically cost less than $30,000. 2+2 versions are $15-20,000 more expensive.
300ZX 1983-86 $18,460 (3)
300ZX Z31 Turbo 1985-89 $22,500 (2)
300ZX Z32 1989-95 $20,700 (18)
300ZX Z32 Twin-Turbo 1989-93 $27,060 (25)
300ZX Twin-Turbo 1994-99 $43,250 (4)
300ZX Z32 Convertible 1992-95 $30,970 (4)
Figaro 1991-92 $42,620 (6)
