Peak fins era
If you're a fan of the all-or-nothing peak tailfin era of American car design, inspired by the likes of the legendary GM designer Harley Earl, this Dodge is for you.
In the world of Mopar in the mid to late fifties, this was an upmarket model and regarded as a flagship of the Dodge range. It could he had in two or four-door with, of course, numerous options.
This example runs the premium 350ci (5.7lt) Red Ram V8 with a three-speed Torqueflite auto.
In our Reader Ride story on a two-door Lancer version, the owner commented: "They are a dream to drive, smooth, and with good acceleration. You can put your foot down at 55-60mph and in no time at all you’re doing 90."
Custom Royal was a name used by Dodge in its domestic market from 1955 through to 1959.
The car advertised here is based near Brisbane (Qld) and claims to be in excellent shape. It's on the market for $55,000.
