S-pack

This Falcon ute was built at a time when ‘flash’ utes were in the minority. Sure they existed as something that could be bought as a bit of a luxury, and perhaps something you weren’t using to cart ladders, bags of cement, paint…whatever. However the market was very much dominated by those who would literally work a ute to death.

For Ford Australia, XF represented the last run for the XD-XF generation, which had served the company well. The line saw spectacular sales and a few awards along the way - particularly for the XD.

By the time the XF came along, the platform - though significantly upgraded - was seeing increasingly stiff competition and was soon to be replaced.

This 1986 S pack has power steering, a 4.1lt six power plant and four-speed manual All up a reasonably desirable package.

It seems to be in better than average shape and could be an interesting car to put on club/historic plates and take to the occasional show.

Located in Orange, NSW, it’s on the market at $11,900.

See our history piece on the series.
