Muscle car legend

Consistently ranking as the country's most valuable muscle car, the XY Ford GT-HO Phase III is one of those models where demand easily outstrips supply, and these days is as much an investment vehicle as it is something to drive.

Prices for premium examples have been exceeding the $1 million mark in recent times. 

This example is coming up for auction with Seven82 Motors in Queensland, as part of a larger online event that starts November 29 and closes December 6.

The car was sold new by Melbourne dealer Courtney & Patterson in July 1971 and the history since then seems to be pretty well recorded.

it's listed as a 'maintained' car - so largely original with an external repaint.
