2012 FPV GT-P - today's tempter
Supercharged Ford
LOCAL MUSCLE cars have done pretty well over time, particularly if they’re from the chrome bumper era. However it took a little while for later models to follow suit.
That said, with the end of local manufacturing, pretty much any premium Australian car has collector interest these days, particularly if they’re a short-run model.
This 2012 FPV GT-P well and truly fits the bill, claiming to be one of just 211 Series II variants.
As such it has a supercharged Ford Miami 5.0lt V8 and a six-speed ZF auto transmission. The engine, by the way, carried a 335kW power claim, or near enough to 450hp – more than enough to launch it at the horizon.
This one claims just over 41,000km on the odo and is with Australian Muscle Car Sales. It’s priced at $98,000.
