Post-Brock hero car

After the dust had settled from the public and bitter divorce between the General and Peter Brock's HDT Special Vehicles operation, Holden appointed Tom Walkinshaw's TWR operation to continue building hot Holdens.

The company was named HSV and their first Group A effort based on the VL was jaw droppingly wild, and as a race car very effective.

 See our Walkinshaw buyers guide.

Here is a matching numbers 1988 VL SS Group A Walkinshaw that, according to the ad, is immaculately presented inside and out.

It has travelled only 94,050 kms and the seller says the engine was rebuilt and enhanced at 85,000km. The dyno has recorded it as having a whopping at 257kW at the rear wheels. It's tied to a Tremec TKO 5 speed box.

Arguably the most radical Commodore made, this trophy winner is available for $295,000. See the details here.
