1970 Datsun 240Z
A dynasty begins
The 240 is the first of the famous Zed cars, firstly badged Datsun, and later Nissan. Its lineage continues to this day.
The 240Z sought to go head to head against the Europe and British sports car offerings and was a hero car for the brand.
Designed by a team led by Yoshihiko Matsuo, the head of Sports Car Styling, it was sleek, with modern engineering, an affordable price and boasting decent levels of performance and handling due to its MacPherson strut front and Chapman strut rears.
Brakes were a disc drum arrangement.
