Classic Chrysler

Chrysler's AP5 Valiant was the third model range produced by Chrysler Australia, running from 1963 to 1965. Significantly it was the first Valiant manufactured here, previously they'd been assembled from kits. While the AP5 was built here the signature 225ci slant-six engine continued to be imported.

The AP5 range was expanded to include the prestigious Regal, featuring an upmarket interior, heater, carpets, an auto transmission and white wall tyres. A Safari sedan and wagon were also new models to the range. Chrysler Australia advertised the AP5 as the Valiant by Chrysler rather than as the Chrysler Valiant. Take a look at our AP5-AP6 feature.

For Mopar fans this is a real and rare treat. A matching numbers, one-owner, log-booked country car in original condition with 51,000 miles on the clock. Finished in Antique White, it's said to have no rust, or accident damage. The interior is claimed to be like the day it left the factory. Asking price is $44,000. See it here.
