Ford Capri + VN SS + Cuda – our auction picks
A few choice lots from the current Grays auction
Grays has an eclectic mix of machinery up for offer in its latest auction. Here are a few that caught our eye...
This 1974 RS3100 Ford Capri is a bit of a rarity - claiming to be Australian-delivered and unrestored with under 60,000 miles on the odo. These things have an interesting competition background and you can see some of it here in this profile from Unique Cars mag.
Look for another V6 Capri special in issue 457 of Unique Cars, on sale September 16.
VN-series SS Commodores have gone from zero to hero as collector cars in recent years and Atlas Grey is right up there as a desirable colour. We did a story on a remarkable resto of one of these a few years ago – see it here.
This 1990 example is an auto claiming 130,000km on the odo.
Definitely one for the shy and retiring among you. This 1971 Plymouth Cuda comes in pretty good spec, with a 383 V8, four-barrel, and 727 auto. And let's not forget the wild seventies colour scheme!
We've covered several Cudas over the years – here's the most recent feature, with links to others. In this market, we reckon they can offer a lot of bang for your buck when compared to Aussie classics.
