One of our former cover cars has come up for sale – a nicely-presented 1978 XC Ford Fairmont.

It was a well-optioned family luxo cruiser when it first rolled out of the showroom, with the 4.9lt V8 up front, three-speed auto, air-con and power steering.

This example has a good history and was resprayed in 1999. The odo is showing around 148,000km.

It was used to illustrate our cover feature for issue 450, last March, and we ran a profile on the car and owner as part of that. You can see the story here.
