Holden HG Monaro cover car

One of our all-time favourite cover cars and resto stories has come up for auction via Grays.

It's a 1971 HG 253 auto painstakingly built by Queenslander Mike Casey. Apart from winning several trophies, it also graced the cover of Unique cars mag #434 back in 2019.

Bought as a runner, the car was used for a little while before Mike decided to pull it to pieces and give it the full resto treatment in his shed. A concerted effort to get the job done meant it was completed in just a year and to a very high standard.

At the time of writing, it had a little over a day to run at auction and had reached $160,000.
