HSV HSV VX GTS300 HSV

300kW Chev power

HSV's phenomenal output over its Holden history is such that you pretty much need a guide book to what was produced and when.

Among the myriad models was the VTII to VX GTS300 series, so named because it was running a 5.7lt Callaway-enhanced LS1 Chevrolet V8 claiming 300kW. At the time that was solid bragging rights, and even now it's more than enough to ensure lively performance.

By the time the VX came around, nearly the entire production was sporting a six-speed manual, though an auto was available. It was riding on 19-inch wheels and cost in the vicinity of $100,000.

We have a guide to the series here, but note prices have gone north since it was published. We've seen interest in HSVs firm up over the recent months.

This 2001 example, #247 of 287, is in the colours the VX series was best known for and has had a few boxes ticked when it was ordered, such as for an electric sunroof and CD stacker.

It's claiming all the books and relatively low mileage at around 104,000km.

This one is with prestige in Sydney and is priced at $84,990.
