Peter Elliot 37 Ford

It's not often we'll put up this style of car in this segment, but sometimes you have to make an exception.

Known as Obsession, this is fairly well-known to people who have been involved in the scene for a while. It debuted in 2008 and won nine trophies at Summernats 21.

The chassis started out as period Ford, but has been extensively modified, running independent suspension and disc brakes at both ends, with Jaguar-style inboard stoppers on the rear.

The powerplant is a 383 fuel-injected LT1 Chev, matched to a T350 auto and Kugel diff.

As you'd expect at elite level, the attention to detail is astounding. It's clear that even minor individual pieces would have consumed hours of effort.

We like the fact it combines the thirties styling influences with a very modern feel.

Our friends over at Street Machine mag of course covered the build and you can see the story here.

Meanwhile the car is up for sale in Queensland and is priced at $160,000.
