Second-gen local V8

For Ford Australia the launch of the XT series, and in particular the V8 GT, represented a coming of age for the Falcon range.

Where the XR series was the ground-breaker for local V8s, people who are familiar with both generations acknowledge the XT is a more 'together' drive.

In our recent Unique Cars magazine cover feature on the XT, former Ford Marketing Manager David Morgan had this to say: "The XT GT was a lot more refined than the previous model but it was one of those things that people couldn’t see so you had to experience it to tell. It was probably an easier car to drive as well and with the XT GT it virtually became a separate model."

This 1969 example is running a 302 with Top Loader four-speed transmission and a number of subtle mechanical upgrades. Located in Griffith, NSW, it's on the market for $89,000.
