Chrome bumper luxo cruiser

If you’re a fan of XA-XC Falcons but terrified by their prices, it might be worth considering their larger Fairlane and LTD cousins, particularly if you’re after a cruiser on a budget.

Much like anything with a bit of chrome wrapped around them, they aren’t the true bargain they were 20-odd years ago. But kilo-for-kilo you’ll still get good value for your hard-earned in this buying climate.

This 1979 example is a P6 LTD, with the factory fitted 5.8-litre 2V Cleveland V8 donk, FMX T-Bar auto and 9-in LSD to manage all that beautiful Clevo torque.

Critically it’s a rust free example, with only 115,000km on the ticker.

The outside is said to have undergone a restoration to its former glory in the original tropic gold hue, while the restoration also included a new soft brown vinyl roof, reconditioned leather interior and new carpet.
