This is one of 500 sent to Aston Martin Tickford for conversion to the Sierra ‘RS500 Cosworth specs. What a bang for your buck as our own John Bowe knows.

1970 Fiat Jolly Custom

Just how cute and quirky is this baby Fiat? The bambino with its 499cc two cylinder engine won’t go fast but will turn plenty of heads. This colourful and charming tribute to Fiat’s quirky beach and resort car is one of an ongoing "500 Rizza" series of customs created by Rome-based restoration shop RizzaClassic. Its fabric roof is removable and it features a wicker interior. Bellissima.

What's moving and shaking:

The E30 BMW is almost forty. Produced from 1982 to 1994, Available as a two-door sedan, a convertible and for the first time, a four-door sedan and wagon. It also saw the birth of the M3 series.

Four-cylinder variants are still affordable but sixes are starting to fly. The simplest way to buy one is join a BMW owners club and be guided through the trials and tribulations of each so you end up with a solid reliable and enjoyable toy.
