Iconic sports car

There are a lot of things that typify the 1960s - essentially the decade that saw the world properly emerge into the pop music era: The Beetles, Rolling Stones, Minis, miniskirts, E-types and, we'd argue, the MGB.

This simple but well-executed sports car sold in huge volume over the years and deserved to.

Even now, it's a pretty simple thing to live with so long as rust hasn't killed it. Plus, a well set-up one can be a surprisingly capable sports car.

Now the car we show here is in fact a 1972 model, which means it has some updates but is essentially the same as the sixties cars. The hardtop GT body has some obvious advantages, particularly on longer trips.

This example is a four-speed manual with overdrive and claims a significant amount of recent work. Priced at $29,500, it's with the Healey Factory in Melbourne.
