Enhanced V8 with all the original gear

HSV Clubbie - Today's Aussie V8 Tempter
HSV VR Clubsport

HSV's Clubsport line was a something of a ground-breaker back when it kicked off with the VN Commodore series in 1989. Here was a proper enhanced package that was within reach of someone who didn't necessarily have a fortune to spend. And the market responded by buying them in unprecedented numbers.

The car you see above is a 1995 VR and is number 1193 of 1194 – so the second-last.

Of course the powerplant is the familiar 5.0lt V8 tweaked for 185kW and prehaps more importantly 400Nm. That's tied to a four-speed auto.

This one has a few miles, showing 241,000km, but we're told it's in exceptional condition and belies what the odo is showing.

In any case, we reckon low-volume Aussie muscle like this has a future with collectors, particularly when it looks so original. it's being handled by Australian Muscle car Sales and is priced at $32,500.
