Compact Hero Cars lead Shannons auction
Capri, Mini and Torana are the performers in current auction
Two Brit classics and a Torana are leading the charge in the current Sydney-Melbourne Shannons classic auction.
Lot 173, a very desirable 1973 Capri RS3100, has met reserve and (as of mid-day Wednesday Nov 18) stands at $80,000 with several hours to go.
A 1970 Mini Cooper S (lot 168) is also doing well, having again met reserve with bidding at $60,000.
Of the Australian lots, perhaps the stand-out is the 1970 LC Torana GTR (lot 172), with no reserve and a top bid so far of $56,500.
Motorcycles have also been doing well. A 1974 Ducati 750 Sport (lot 91) easily exceeded the top estimate of $44,000 and is now sitting on $55,000.
