1976 Chrysler VK Valiant Regal – Today’s Tempter
Very good original and unrestored condition: 245, auto, 164,000kms, original plates
Chrysler’s VK Valiant arrived late in 1975 as a lightly facelifted VJ with a new grille, tail lights and badging being the most obvious differentiators.
It was a rather restrained restyling, reportedly due to financial constraints, while others believed it to simply act as a stopgap model for the all-new CL.
The overall range was simplified, now offering the: basic sedan, Regal, Ranger, Charger XL, 770 and a utility.
Engine options comprised of the 215, 245 and 265 Hemi-sixes, with optional 318ci and 360ci V8s; with three or four-speed manuals, or a three-speed auto, handling the cog-swapping.
This 1976 Valiant Regal sedan appears to be a fine example of the breed.
The seller asserts that the car presents unrestored and in highly original condition throughout.
Specified with the 245 inline-six and three-speed auto, the car reportedly shows 164,000kms travelled with recent works to tie rods, ball joints and brake discs and pads.
The car appears very well-kept throughout, with the seller indicating the presence of some imperfections in consistent with age.
The floors are clean and original, as is the interior free of noticeable wear and tear.
Accompanied by original owner books, tools and still wearing its day-one registration plates, the Valiant may suit anyone after a seemingly honest and original Australian-made family sedan.
You can find the Valiant Regal in Victoria, listed for $27,500.
