Fully rebuilt 1,275cc classic Mini with four-speed manual

The classic Mini remains one of the most iconic and significant cars in history, and is still a popular classic car today.

A revolutionary pint-sized ‘two-box’ design that could fit four people with relative ease, the car was an instant hit and was equally at home on the race track as it was on the movie screen, or as a fashion accessory to the stars.

They’re instantly recognisable to even the most casual automotive observer, which illustrates its lasting legacy.

The Mini even made up a significant part of Australia’s local manufacture industry, produced from Leyland from 1961 through to late 1978, where the Australian Minis were farewelled by 400 LS1275 special edition models with a 40kW 1,275cc motor.

This earlier 1975 Clubman isn’t an Australian-made Leyland, but it does bear one of the ‘big’ 1,275cc motors, and is likely originally a UK-delivered vehicle.

There isn’t much information written into the ad’s listing unfortunately, but it does insinuate that the 1,275cc motor has been fully rebuilt and that it is specified with a desirable four-speed manual gearbox.

Photos show a largely clean and seemingly well-kept car with dark blue paint that seems to show lustre and a well-presented engine bay.

Unfortunately, any interested parties may need to get in contact with the seller for more information, but it looks to be a well-kept car that is seemingly coming from an enthusiast owner (judging from the Fiat 500 and Honda S600 pictured in the background).

The Mini Clubman GT is based in New South Wales and is listed for $16,500.
