Genuine GTV6, rare auto, restored with original interior

Ford’s Capri 3000GT launched in Australia in February 1970, initially as a four-speed manual only.

Although it was deemed a little pricey, Ford’s "new shape of power" enjoyed decent sales from the get-go, selling just over 1,500 units by the end of that year.

The automatic variant was in early 1971 and remains markedly more scarce. With over 3000 Capri V6s sold by 1972, five out of six were manuals.

This one, is one of those more uncommon automatics. While that does hamper some of its desirability – it looks like a fantastic example of its kind.

It’s described as a genuine GT 3000 with its original numbers-correct engine and gearbox.

The listing also states that the car has received prior restoration to body, paint, engine, gearbox and steering; while the original interior remains.

Unfortunately, there isn't much more information included in the listing's description, however the seller invites any serious enquiries to be made via telephone.

Overall, it looks to be a tremendously tidy car with no noticeable flaws or faults judging from the photos within the ad. If anyone is after a compact classic mini-muscle cruiser, this sporty UK Ford might fit the bill nicely.

The Capri GT 3000 is based in Queensland and is listed for $45,000.
