Classic Aussie family survivor: original tools, books and three owners from new

The EJ of 1962 replaced the outgoing EK, whose curvaceous lines and tail fins were traded for a distinctly modern square stance, flat boot and smoothed over panels.

Despite the modern styling, the trusty old Grey motors remained under the bonnet, and offered no real performance gains and were perhaps considered outgunned in the face of Ford’s new pursuit motors.

Regardless however, they still remain a handsome Aussie family classic and don’t generally command the sky-high prices of some of its more popular younger relatives.

This EJ Special is a three-owner car, and is nicely presented throughout.

The seller hasn’t said too much in the listing description, but indicates that an original toolset and original service books accompany the car.

In the photos, the EJ looks good; great body and paint with an unmarked interior.

If anyone is after a classic home-grown cruiser, this one might be worth a look.

The EJ is based in Victoria and is listed for $25,000.
