1968 Lancia Fulvia Rallye 1.3 – Today’s Tempter

Italian sporting classic: turnkey package with nothing left to do

While the Lancia Fulvia Berlina (sedan) debuted at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show, the coupe wouldn’t be seen until the Turin Motor Show of 1965.

The coupe design was penned in-house with a 150mm-shorter wheelbase than the sedan, and with the Berlina’s 1.1lt narrow V4 under the bonnet bored out to 1216cc.

In 1967, a range of uprated 1.3lt-powered coupes was introduced; in base Rallye 1.3 spec, Rallye 1.3 S and Rallye 1.3 HF, were available in varying states of sporting flavour.

A Series II facelift arrived in 1970, and third in 1974; but many prefer the styling of the early Series 1s.

This 1968 Rallye 1.3 is a genuine factory right-hand drive example; and is described as being in "as good condition as you will ever find", according to the seller.

The body is said to be in excellent rust and damage free condition with great paintwork, new headlights, tail lamps, reflectors and badges.

Mechanically, the engine has been fully rebuilt with new pistons, bearings, chains, valves etc; with less than 800kms covered since the completion. Electronic ignition has been fitted, along with a new exhaust and cooling system.

Brakes and suspension have also been given an overhaul; and all electrics and gauges within the unmarked interior are said to be fully functional.

The seller says that the car comes with over 20 years worth of receipts, and has been thoroughly maintained throughout its life.

If anyone is after a genuine well-sorted turnkey Italian classic, this little Fulvia might be worth a look!
