One-owner factory V8 WB Panel Van: bucket seats, air-con and 153,000kms

The big WB, produced from 1980 to 1985, may have – in an alternate universe – carried on as another facelift of the full-size HQ-HZ range; but Holden famously chose to invest in the newfangled VB Commodore.

To fill the full-sized gap in the catalogue, including utes, panel vans, one-tonners and the up-spec Devilles and Caprices; the WB was introduced carrying over the much of the HZ’s front end panels.

Holden’s commercial vehicles have been a very active segment over the years, especially in the wake of Holden’s factory closure, and – given recent news – should continue to gain steam.

This WB Panel Van looks like an astute purchase and is well-deserving of preserving as a historic piece of Australiana.

The seller describes the car as a one-owner car, and a factory automatic V8 example (assumed to be the 4.2lt).

Inside the cabin, there is air-conditioning, power-steering and bucket seats, and the car has travelled just very meagre 153,000kms.

Unfortunately the listing is scant on further details, but the photos show the WB Pano to be in pretty good condition.

The paint looks largely unmarked except for a little dent on the rear driver-side, just above the rear bumper, and the brown vinyl interior looks great; though we do spy some aftermarket speakers in the door. It’s not stated whether the paintwork and interior is original, but it may be worth investigating!

The WB Panel Van is based in South Australia, and is listed for $19,950.
