Cheap classic? How about this original and low-mileage example of the endangered Bluebird

The Nissan Bluebird arrived in 1981 and replaced the 200B as the mainstream offering for Nissan.

It gained a distinctly more European appearance, with slab-sided three-box proportions and nary a curved edge in sight.

With much of the 200B’s underpinnings carried over into the new skin – including the L20B engine, suspension and gearbox – the Bluebird’s public reception was somewhat underwhelming but was a big win for Nissan given its popularity on the fleet market.

Lives lived on the fleet, coupled with its "blandbird" reputation no doubt contributed to the incredibly low survival rate over the decades; leaving the Bluebird a seriously endangered species these days.

This one, oddly, seems to have survived in excellent care however.

The ’84 Bluebird sedan presents in original and unmodified condition and has travelled just 98,280kms in its life.

Its past owners have maintained the car to great standard, with new tyres, struts, shockers, brakes, rack boots, heater core and thermos fan switch fitted in the past few years.

The seller states that the car "drives very well" and is in possession of the original owner’s books with accompanying dates and details of delivery.

If you like your classics a little left-of-field, a little unloved, and cheap; the Bluebird sedan is based in Victoria and is listed for $5,500.
