Restored to factory spec: original factory optioned colours, 396ci V8, auto

The first-generation Camaro, and specifically the final year 1969, is a lasting icon of the US’ 60s muscle car era; and remains a globally sought-after model for its styling and brutish V8 pony car packaging.

For 1969, the Camaro carried over much of the mechanical underpinnings of the previous model year, but gained all-new sheet metal everywhere else albeit for the bonnet and boot lid.

It cut a more angular and sharper shape, and is widely regarded as the most eye-pleasing model of the first-generation Camaro.

It was also peak-production: with just over 243,000 produced for the 1969 year, 34,932 of them being SS’ like this one.

This 1969 Camaro SS was reportedly purchased from a car museum in the US, and presents in original factory optioned colours.

The car has been rebuilt and restored to factory specification, with its 396ci V8 matched to an automatic transmission.

The odometer reads just 3,347 miles and the car presents hard-to-fault throughout, from its exterior bodywork to the eye-catching yellow ‘houndstooth’ interior.

It looks to be a turn-key package that offers an incredible amount of style and road-presence.

The car is based in Queensland and is listed for $80,000.
