1962 Holden EJ Special – Today’s Tempter

138, three-on-the-tree, full respray; runs great and comes with spares

Holden’s EJ of 1962, lost the be-winged and curvaceous lines of the preceding EKs, and planted the new sedan firmly into 60s modernity; with a flat boot, smoothed over panels and a wider and squarer stance.

Despite the modern looks, the trusty old Grey motors were carried over and offered no real performance gains in the face of Ford’s new pursuit motors.

These days however, they’re still a handsome and honest Aussie classic with plenty to like.

This EJ Special comes to market as a regrettable sale due to "unforeseen circumstances" befalling the sellers.

Their "beloved" EJ is fitted with a 138 and three-on-the-tree. It’s received a full respray in custom turquoise and white pearl roof, and the interior has received all new trim.

It’s received a retro Bluetooth radio and a newly cored radiator, however the seller state that they have tried to keep it as original as they could.

The car runs and drives well, and comes with a number of spares, including; two gearboxes, some hubcaps and some other bits and pieces.

The sellers have owned the EJ for 12 years, and are sad to see it go.
