Very original and well-presented VP SS; Former GM Executive car, anthracite grey, outstanding condition

The VP of 1991 was a subtle facelift of the preceding VN but, while cosmetic changes were minor, it brought some real developmental substance under the skin.

Independent rear suspension was standardised across Calais and SS models, and were made optional across the range.

Inside the cabin, power windows also became the standard affair (although rear winders were still found in Executive and Berlina models), and the entire range gained a factory security system comprising of ignition disable, ECM disable and deadlocks in the doors. The Calais gained speed-sensitive power-steering and the sporty SS gained an LSD, sports suspension and gas rear shocks.

Visually, the VP gained new bumpers, a new acrylic grille and the usual front indicator and tail lamp fettling.

This 1992 VP SS Commodore looks to be one of the best-kept examples we’ve come across in recent memory.

It’s finished in the desirable hue of Anthractie grey, mostly original paint too! The interior too is all original down to the radio, and everything is fully functional.

The VP SS is complimented by known history; just four owners from new with books indicating it was originally a GM Executive car.

Recent maintenance includes refurbished factory wheels, new front brake pads, power steering pump, brake fluid and coolant flush and new radiator cap.

It’s been given a few upgrades over its life, including exhaust, HSV ait intake, larger throttle body, lowered suspension and a "shift improver".

Overall, it’s a tremendously well-presented and enthusiast-owned example of an increasingly desired model.

The VP SS is based in South Australia and is listed for $24,000.
