Long-term ownership, repainted in 2005. Original rims, plates and paperwork included

The Holden HG arrived in the winter of 1970 and replaced the outgoing HT as a mild facelift with updated styling and mechanicals.

Available models were Belmont, Kingswood, Premier, Brougham and Monaro; between which were available as four-door sedan and station wagons as well as two-door coupes and utilities.

Engines ranged from 161ci and 181ci six-cylinders to 253, 308 and 350ci V8s, with cog-swapping handled by either a three or four-speed manual, or a two-speed Powerglide or three-speed Trimatic.

This HG presents as a 186 Kingswood and comes from 25 years of family ownership.

The car was repainted back in 2005, though the listing does not indicate whether the white-over-red scheme is original as delivered.

The original owner replaced the gearbox with a four-speed Celica gearbox, and the seller says the sale will include the original wheels, as well as the original plates and paperwork.

It looks presentable from the exterior, with its past respray still holding lustre. The engine bay is also very clean and seemingly well-kept. The white vinyl interior could use a good clean and it should be noted that the radio is missing.

Overall however, the car is virtually all there and comes with its fair share of history and documents. If it’s in good running condition, it would make a great cruiser that you can clean up over time.

The HG Kingsy is based in Queensland and is listed for $25,000.
