1969 Holden HT Premier – Today’s Tempter
Immaculate 186 Premier, three on the tree, with factory log books
The HT Holden was another evolutionary step in the lineage; the annual facelift for 1969.
While most people spotted the new plastic grille on lower-spec models and taillight revisions, Holden touted "65 major improvements" in their new and improved HT.
Under the bonnet, the six-cylinders were carried over from the preceding HK, while the imported 5.0lt V8 was replaced with the Australian 253 and 308s, with the Chev 350 kept for the GTS350 Monaro.
Improved ride and NVH came courtesy of new neoprene bushes in the front suspension and relocated rear gearbox mounts, with the welcome addition of a full-synchromesh three-speed column manual.
The HT on sale here is the upmarket Premier. The Prem’s carried over the preceding HK body and were fitted as standard with the 186, coupled to a three-on-the-tree manual.
Details within the listing are scant, except that the car includes its factory log books, and is in immaculate condition.
It certainly looks the part with its exterior chromework unmarked and its maroon paint showing plenty of lustre. It’s not clear whether the car is in original condition or whether it’s been restored prior, but the car is incredibly well presented throughout.
The engine bay is clean and the interior is largely impeccable save for some wear on the steering wheel.
If you’re after a classic Holden, this might be one to investigate!
The HT Prem’ is based in Western Australia, and is listed for $30,000.
